Reviews of Line6 Variax Modeling Guitar (With Gig Bag)

Feature:
came with a padded gig bag, the special Variax cable and the 1/4 out/xlr out selector switch. All great quality.

Quality:
I love the look and feel of my Red Variax. The 700 series that has come out now has some upgrades but still uses the same sound engine that the 500 series uses.

Value:
It would cost a fortune to buy all the guitars this one Variax models.

Desirability:
I wanted this when they first came out, just based on it's features before I even played one. It looks great, plays great and is now my #1 axe. The only thing I want now is the Variax Workbench software that will take any Variax to a whole new level!

Sound:
excellent sounds! The sounds I use most are dead-on accurate. (Les Paul, Strat, Tele). If you use the "acoustic" sounds, they sound great using the XLR connector on the footswitch to the mixing board. I use this Variax with a Pod XT Pro and I get so many great combinations I'm amazed I only need these 2 pieces of gear to do it all.

Support:
I haven't had to contact Line 6 about the Variax, but I have regarding a Pod Xt Pro that was a floor demo that I bought. It had a bad Output volume pot in it. I bought it at Guitar Center and they swapped the Pod Xt Pro out with a new one, no questions asked.

Overall:
There really aren't any other products you can compare the Variax to. It is in a league of it's own. Nice going Line 6!
