Reviews of Roland MC909 64-Voice Sampling Groovebox
Feature: Lots of features, but most I think Roland is trying too hard make it versatile. Too many features. but each feature doesn't have all the necessary features to make it a complete tool do do the job.
Quality: I would grade this a pretty darn good though I only own this for about a month so far, who knows how long it would last before soemthing goes wrong. so far so good.
Value: Pretty decent price.
Desirability: The look is OK, not too bad.
Sound: The sounds are really kewl. You get alot of new sounds. Great for Trance, Techno, all electronic musics. But be warned, the sounds are NOT as clear or the quality is NOT as good & as clean as Korg's.
Support: Don't need it.
Overall: Overall rating of this item, from a scale from 1 to 10, I would give it a 6 from a musician's point of view, but from a DJ's point of view, it would be higher. This unit has lots of cool new sounds and presents, but if you're thinking of using it as a drum machine, forget it. THE SONG EDIT MODE is SUPER LAME!! You can only delete presents used in song or add the exact present patterns. LAME!!! Can't add patterns to a song once its done. LAME!!! Pattern edit mode is a litttle better, but still missing alot of needed features to make it work and user friendly. This product will be outdated in a few years.
