Reviews of Roland Session Expansion Board for JV/XP Series (Model SRJV8009) Feature: Its an expansion board - its kind of hard to talk about features. Its very easy to install and the patches load automatically without a floppy disk load (unlike the Triton). Value: Worth every penny. Desirability: You should want this card - it has the best pianos of any SR-JV card and tons of other first-rate sounds. Sound: If you are on a budget and can only get one expansion board for your synth - this is the one. The sounds are first rate - strings, choir, nylon guitar, class synth emulations, all the bases get covered by this board. I was a little disappointed with the Roland sound of my XP-60 until I installed this board. It makes a HUGE difference. Other expansion boards are more specialized. This one is general - it added very good sounds that cover a wide range of music. Support: I hear Roland support is the biggest joke in the music industry. I have never had to call them, so I cannot verify this from personal experience.
